The Little White Lie of "FISH STICKS CURES NOSE BLEEDS"

So I am kind of wondering something. Okay before I get started just wanted to say I am well aware of how bad it is to tell a lie. I know that all sin is equal and that we should not do it, but I have always wondered about the so called little white lies as people call them. I have told a few of them myself and just wondering if this story is allowable or am I still held accountable. I can think up many reasons in my head how I think God would over look this one lie, but on the other hand I can think of many other reasons why he wouldn't.  Alright so here is my little white lie. So as everyone know I have an autistic brother. He is very finicky when it comes to food and eating. He thinks if it looks gross then it tastes gross, and same with smells too, if it smells gross then it will taste gross. My parents and I always had a hard time dealing with him when it came to eating real food around any meal time. It was to the point that he would only eat from McDonalds or any take out joint. Like Pizza, Wendys mainly burger joints. We could not even get him to eat a burger at home even if we made it in front of him to show him how it looked just like a wendys burger or a McDonalds burger. Or even home made pizza or even if we bought something from the grocery store like Delissio for an example, he would just gag. He had it in his head that anything from home made from any of us was healthy food. Although it was the same food from the fast food joints that we would try to make him and we did tell him how it is unhealthy from the burger joints and it is still unhealthy at home so it does not make a difference.  So it got to the point that it was getting too costly to be buying breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday for years from McDonalds and other fast food joints. We would keep the little french fry containers that they came in from McDonalds and just reuse it over and over again with fries we made from home. He had no clue of the difference and we would save a pizza box and then cook some at home that we bought from the grocery store and would bake it and then put it in the box. We would make either one of my parents just walk in the door and yell "PIZZA" or "MCDONALDS" then set down the old box of pizza or McDonalds. But one day Joel had caught us all in the act, he seen my mom open the over when she was checking on the french fries and then realized that when we tries to give him the fries in the McDonalds fry container he would gag and refuse to eat it. So it went back to the old way again. Then for two summers in a row I was baby sitting Joel while my parents would be at work. So I got tired of doing all this take out stuff. One day Joel had fell down and hurt his nose badly to the point of bleeding. So he asked me what would cure nose bleeds. So I blurted out the words "salads and fish sticks cures nose bleeds, that is the only thing you can eat that will help it stop". So that got Joel into eating salads and fish sticks, he now eats them to this day and loves them. As more time went on something would happen and I would tell little white lies like that to get him to eat real food. So what I am wondering is, is that wrong to lie to him like that? Because we all know that there is not a food in the world that would cure a nose bleed and that your nose does eventually stop bleeding on its own. All sin is equal and a little white lie is as bad as murder. It is written in the bible. Lying is also in the 10 commandments too. So what is the verdict here??

Kids Are Not Boring

I am so disgusted! I was watching an episode of House. The guy with the very rude and arrogant attitude. Well anyways. There is a group of doctors that work with him and this one particular doctor which is a male. He was talking with his co-workers at some diner about his kids, and how he hides his magazines and other things that distract him from his kids. Then he comes out and says he finds his kids boring. He rather have the magazines around, but the ex-wife said he needs to spend actual time with his kids. What kind of selfish person would think such things of their own kids. Kids are not boring. Your time with your kids is what you make of it. I love my kid. She is one year old today. I just have a blast with her whether we are inside the house or out for a stroll or to the mall or just cuddling on the couch watching her favorite movie Cinderella.  I am so sad to think that anyone would feel that away about their own kids. If you do not like kids or do not have patience for them, then don't have unprotected sex with your partner, or please give your kid up for adoption at birth. There are plenty of people out there where one of the couples have a problem with their body and are not able to have kids. So them type of couples would love to adopt a sweet child. Anyways I am done ranting for today. I think I made my point. I am just so frustrated. I am going to go hang out with my little baby girl.

1 Year of Motherhood

So obviously by my title that my daughter is 1 year old. So I am 1 year into motherhood. This year went by so quick. I never seen time fly so quick until now. She is not that tiny little loaf of bread size any more. She about the height of my knee a little over my knee I do believe. Aaliyah has grown so much in the last year it is unbelievable. I just love her so much to the point of wanting to scream in excitement. She has been standing on her feet for at least a month so I know that by next month or so she should be walking. Which I know I am in for a very crazy days once she does that. She will be getting into everything. So a great HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU AALIYAH!!!

Praising God

It is said in the bible that we as Christian parents are to bring up our child in the way they should go. I do believe there is more to the verse than that. I will look it up and edited this post later. Anyways onto the subject. I have been searching for the right church to attend since we moved to Alberta. So we went to this church called people's church, which was lovely. Nice christian people. During worship service it was so nice to look over at my little baby girl who is 1 day away from being 1 year old was raising both hands in the air praising God. She was watching what I was doing and I was very surprised and shocked. I guess babies start mimicking from a very young age. I guess I will have to watch myself for now on, not that I do anything bad that I would be embarrassed of if she were to mimick or copy me of again. It just really encourages me to want to do a lot more things to instill into her while she is still young.  It is so beautiful watching her grow. Aaliyah also was clapping her hands during some of the songs today too! Which was very touching and beautiful to see. So I am going to step up on my word to God from the day I dedicated her and really try to teach her more. I love watching her grow in the Lord, even for a baby, it is so rewarding to see this. It is really the small things that count.

For The Love of Make Up

Okay so as oppose to my last post, I am more awake and thought of something I wanted to put on here to get the word out. I have another face book fan page, but this one is not to promote my poetry book. This one is more for fun and to show off what I can do with make up. Since I have been wearing make up since I was about 12 or 13. So if you love make up and all that pretty glittery stuff and shimmery stuff take a look at my page. All you got to type into the search part of face book is: For The Love of Make Up. Anyways hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Early Riser Today

I am so upset when I look at the alarm clock to find out that it is 5:20 am. So now I have to get up, because lying there in bed for an extra 5 minutes did not help me get back to sleep. And no I was not trying to go back to sleep from hearing Aaliyah crying or anything. I was not ignoring her. I was trying to ignore myself being wide awake as I am. I love my sleep and for some reason today I could not make myself feel sleepy again after waking up so randomly early in the morning. I am not usually an early riser. If anything I wake up to the beckoning call of my daughter Aaliyah. So I am up!! Yay. NOT!! I want to go to sleep. I feel sleepy I look sleepy, but all I am doing is tossing and turning with out any progress of actually falling asleep. So I am up for the day. So I am drinking my coffee, and just hoping that I start to get rid of this grouchiness I have going on. I always felt that if it is still dark in the sky when you wake up, then you should not be up, you should be sleeping. What should be the only thing that wakes you up is the sunshine beaming through your curtains and onto your face in the morning, not just waking on your own account. Especially when you are still very tired. So here's to my early day. Hopefully I accomplish a lot more than usual since I will have more time today. So good morning to all you early risers on here who may be possibly reading. Wish me luck as I drink my first coffee of the morning. I hope I can go on with out falling asleep later on through the day. Maybe I will read some bible devotions.

YAY I made a yummy pizza

Okay, so I always look on my cousin Emily's blog and came across a good recipe of hers that she invented out of left over for a yummy pizza, so I tried it. All she did was spread the pizza dough with pesto, then her toppings consist of asparagus, tomatos, bacon, cheese and onions. I however did alter the recipe a little to my likings, since it is more veggie style I took out the bacon. I was meaning for tomatos to be put on it too, but did not have any so I just used some black olives which did the pizza some justice. I really enjoyed it. Although, I do really want try it the exact way she made it. Be proud of me guys, this was my first attempt at home made pizza dough and all.

Thankful

I would just love to say how thankful I am for my loving husband. He and I have come along way since the very first day we have gotten married and also since when we first started dating too.  We do not always see eye to eye. We do have disagreements and arguments, I will say that sometimes I am the cause of some of our things. I am easily to be angered when I shouldn't be. I have been short tempered all my life. It is still something I am working on, but I will say that Jonathan does provoke me at times too. It does try my patience, but lately we have been both improving on both of our behalves. We try to talk things out as often as we can to tell each other things that are or may be bothering us about one another. Even if we do not find any faults or anything as of recent we still have discussions which do help. It is very refreshing to be able to confide to one another the way we do. We are definitely trying too as a married couple to be a good christian couple. Along with encouraging each in our personal christian walk aside from our couple in a relationship with God too. It is not easy being able to find the time to do so, but I am trying to cut my leisure time that I do have and stop spending all my time on my favorite things on the internet like cityville or reading books that are not bible related and trying to pray more and do more devotions. Also trying to just read the whole bible. I want to read at least 5 to 10 chapters a day. So to those of you on here my christian friends please pray for me to get into HIS word more often. So there for I am thankful for my husband and mines  improvement. I am also thankful to all my christian family and friends support all the way.

Make Up Hobby Page or Album?

So as most of you know I love make up so much. I feel confident enough to give some form of tutorials or some photos of my work, I am not professional (as of yet), but I am looking into taking a course at home online for it, but I do know the basics of make up and I have a very creative streak when it comes to make up. So what I've chosen to do, is either make a fan page on facebook and upload photos of different looks I can do. Try to attempt looks I have not tried yet. Along with looks that are inspired by celebrities. Also ideas from  make up magazines. So all I am trying to do right now is figure out what exactly to do. Should I do a fan page on facebook. Or should I just make a "Make-Up" album on facebook? When I finally decide what I choose I will keep it all posted. I figured since I am a Mommy that loves to look good I should show you how I do it everyday.

Tzatziki Dip Recipe

If you like refreshing and tasty dips you got to try this recipe of Tzatziki made from scratch. I worked at a greek restaurant where they made this daily and the two main components for the base was a mixture of plain yogurt and sour cream and that is all I know of what they used but here is what I did with those two and made it my own. So all you need is a cup of each, add diced cucumbers, squeeze half a lemon in, along with some chopped  dill. Take 3 cloves of garlic and grate it really fine and add it too. Another thing I tried with this instead of the chopped dill, is this spice I use from the company called Epicure. I use their version of a dry Tzatziki mix and let it sit and it tastes just as good. Another thing too is with the cucumbers, you can also grate them as well instead of chopping them.

Nails

Wow! Seriously the dollar store keeps getting better each time I go there. I always wanted to try those fancy nail designs with the animal pattern prints on them. Along with other types of designs too, but the problem was the price. I refuse to pay like $10 for a strip of these things. The best part is, now the dollarama store has them, so I bought a couple of different designs for myself to try out and see how I like them. I got the Zebra print and some musical notes with piano keys for the other designs. I never did like paying much for my nails. I did go get them done with acrylic and gel nails before, but really I hate the price and I hate how they use this tool to shave your nail down so thin. When they do eventually come off it takes a while to get some good regrowth of the nail back. So I rather do my own nails. I buy glue ons most of the time when they aren't so expensive a package. So for all you ladies who like to do fun things with your nails and for cheap check out the dollarama store out, before these nail stickers run out in supply.

Baby Talk

Oh how cute it is to hear your own baby talk. Aaliyah just wags her tongue in and out of her mouth about 3 or 4 times trying so hard to talk, but she sounds something like this, "DEE DA DEE DA LEE DA".  She makes other sounds when she tries to talk, but this is the only one I can put in words to give you all an idea of how it sounds. I am so blessed to have such a smart baby. She does try her best to talk and she tries to say bye bye but it comes out as, "DIE DIE". I know the word die is not one of the best words, but Aaliyah doesn't know that, she thinks that she is saying bye bye. Which is cute, because sometimes she puts her hands up to wave, but only does a half wave, waving her hand to the right. I am not liking how she continuously says, " DA DA" all the time. I would love to hear "MA MA", but that is not going to happen anytime soon, because she is the typical daddy's girl just like any other girl. Hmmmm, I wonder if when she understand me more if bribery will work so I can get her to say "MA MA". I can't wait for more baby talk as time goes on. It is so exciting. Well I am calling it a night for now. So good night to you all.

Eating Healthier

I have come to the conclusion that I need to start eating healthier, because all I do eat is a lot of processed foods and canned good, which really is not that good. I am going to start making my own pasta sauces and canning them. I will have to make chowders and bisque's from scratch too. Which will be hard for me to give up Campbell's Chunky Clam Chowders and their Seafood Chowders also. I don't know why I haven't tried to do this before, because I know how bad all this stuff is for me, and I certainly know how to cook and bake, I guess I am lazy when it comes to doing everything from scratch. I am having a hard time losing my pregnant weight and no wonder why, I eat things that are suppose to be meant to be healthy and eat it from take out joints and mall food. Which is not good for you at all. So from this day forward I am going to do what I can to the best of my ability to eat healthy and cook healthier meals for the family.

Progress With My Poetry Book

So as you already know, I have been in the process of copy righting and publishing my poetry. So what has been going on lately is I had to find the time to take all my separate poems that are in their own document and copy and paste them all into one. Due to the fact that the website I am using to upload my poems and create my book cover will only allow one full document uploaded, so I put all my poems in order from my very first one I wrote to the most recent one, all according to the dates they were written in.  Now that I got all that done, I have to work on my book cover. My idea that I have for my book cover is I want to take a picture of my best poem that I had written and write it out on old aged paper with withered edges and with my hand finishing up the last sentence to my poem, with my plume and ink bottle.

Piles of Dishes

Who ever said that the house work will take care of itself, they were totally wrong. Also unfair, because if house work was responsible for itself I would have a much easier day doing other things. Such as more blogging, scrapbooking, writing poetry, photography, cooking and working out. I hate most of all the dishes. If I at least had a dish washer that would be awesome, but however I don't have one. I hate waiting for my dishes to soak to get all the dried up crusty stuff like ketchup, mustard and greasy frying pans.  What I hate the most is when I plan to do some dishes after supper and put them on to soak and do some other things and get caught up with other household chores and then the plan of doing them before I get to bed goes literally down the drain, because the water is freezing cold and gross. I envy ladies that have the option of a dish washer, I at one time had one myself and got complaining about hate having to load it and unload it. Now I rather do that then having to hand wash my dishes, never will I complain if I have the opportunity to have a dish washer. I swear it will take me a year to get these dishes done. Nothing worse then wanting to have my morning coffee to help wake me up, but everyone dirtied every single mug and every single piece of cutlery and everything needs to be clean. I hate doing dishes before having a coffee in the morning.

Congratulations to Emily

Hi there everyone! Emily is my second cousin Cory Vail's wife and she has been accepted to post her ideas, thoughts, recipes and all that jazz onto this really sweet blog site at: The Purposed Heart . I will tell you a bit about her. She is a good inspiration when it comes to blogging. Not only does she have an attractive blog layout, but her topics are so real and true to life. She blogs about the simple sweet things with regards to her husband and kids and her family. She also posts about her loving relationship she shares with God and her own recipes or some she has tried from other people. Emily is a beautiful lady inside and out. I am glad to have her in our family married in or not. She is lovely. I wish I could try to strive more so in the direction she is when it comes to my relationship with God in the same way that she does and still have the patience for everyday cleaning, cooking, taking care of my daughter and time with my husband, she sure is a good example of what I think a Christian women should be. Please do check out the above link if you wish to read posts from her.

Junque Journal

I am so excited to share with you something that I am really interested in trying to do. It is really junk journal, but for the tutorials on youtube on how to make one they spell it that way. Anyways so what this is pretty much is a composition book, which you can get any where's especially in dollarama stores. Just add clippings of everything to it. Paint the cover over whites and stamp it with your favorite stamps from your scrapbooking kit (if you scrapbook that is), or you can take the scrapbooking paper from the dollar store and first off trace the paper around the front of the book and then cut it out and glue it on, and do the same to the rest of the pages. You can check this out at: JUNK JOURNA. I have done my cover first and when I am all done I will share it with you.

Catch Up Time

I am going to try and make this short and sweet, with out elaborating too much. So here I go. This past Christmas was Aaliyah's first one, so it was awesome! As all babies are, they do not care for the presents and cute little outfits, she enjoy crumbling the gift wrap, and crawling inside giant gift bags too!! So that is it for Christmas. Onto another topic, alright so posts upon posts ago on here I had encouraged everyone to vote for my daughter in the cute kid contest, which thankfully to all who voted she did win. So we got a free family photography shoot.  They are on my facebook if you wish to see them. One more topic, so many posts ago I also encouraged everyone to join my fan page for my upcoming book that I am publishing this year in 2012 for my poetry I wrote. The progress is great. I got all my poems finally copy righted, and part of the book itself almost done, I just need to get together a picture I wish to use for my cover. I have an idea of what, but not too sure. If you have not yet joined my facebook fan page at: http://www.facebook.com/AshleySMorin . Well this is all for now folks. Have a blessed day.
